Karabo Poppy: made for sneaker culture

Karabo Poppy: made for sneaker culture

The ground-breaking illustrator and street artist, Karabo Poppy is known for her bold murals scattered across urban buildings and structures throughout Johannesburg and some pretty lit collabs with big brands. When Karabo's art journey began, she says she was inspired by hip hop, rap and Nike Air Force 1s and Air Jordans. Having gravitated to popular culture associated with Black people, it's not surprise that Karabo Poppy was made for sneaker culture.

The inspiring young artist has partnered with Nike on numerous occasions since 2019. For her first gig she designed three styles of Air Force 1s that sold out in a matter of days. In fact, she can proudly say that a pair landed on the feet of THE legend, Le Bron James!

One thing's for sure, this girl is going far and no doubt with a pair of Air Force 1s loyally by her side.

Also a fan of Nike Air Force 1s, shop them here from The Cross Trainer online.
